Anyone who is even a slight travel aficionado can probably tell you that any visit to Cambodia would not be complete without a visit to the Angkor temple site. Undoubtedly, the most well-known of these temples is the one known as Angkor Wat, which is nearly a household name. A quick look at a angkor temple map, however, reveals that there are dozens of other temples, and a visit to only Angkor Wat would be terribly neglectful of all that the other temples have to offer.
These other temples in the Angkor temple system range in age from the 1,300 year old Ak Yum ruins to the newer, 500 year old Prasat Top structure. While Angkor Wat is certainly the main attraction thanks to its daunting size and unparalleled beauty, the more than four dozen other temples in the Siem Reap province are certainly worth a visit. However, if your time in Cambodia does not allow you to visit several of the temple ruins, then the ruins at Angkor Wat and Bayon are consistently the most popular, so they will be sure to whet your appetite for another visit to Siem Reap, Cambodia in the near future.
